No, seriously, man. It's not some small hidden area of the game world - virtually everybody would try to solve the puzzle. If you don't do anything with it, you've got to remove the activation and UI highlight for the big *and* small statues (inside the circles with glowing pillars) and also the *lore sheet telling you of that quest and treasure* ("Trials of Galth'un"). This page even goes inside the Story section...
