This post serves to inform that the revamped version of KENDO is now available, and where the application is headed in terms of the Product Road map.


The Game will be remaining in Early Access for another 15 months and the full version will contain the following features:

• In-depth Kendo Mechanics and Match Judging Criteria.
  
• Total 10 Opponents with different stances and technique preferences.
  
• KENDO demonstrations: KAMAE, SUBURI, HIKI-WAZA, RENZOKU-WAZA, TSUBAZERIAI, FOOTWORK
  
• KENDO guided training: KAMAE, SUBURI, HIKI-WAZA, RENZOKU-WAZA, TSUBAZERIAI, FOOTWORK
  
• Player Stats: Daily Suburi, Total Matches Fought, Used Techniques Overview, and the Daily Application Used Time.
  
• Vive Trackers Full Body Tracking.
  
• Bhaptics Support for Tactal Face Cushion and Tactot Vest.
  
• Multiplayer support.

The focus of the coming updates would be to add in Player Stats, add in more new Opponents, implement In-depth Kendo Mechanics, and Match Judging Criteria. The KENDO demonstrations and guided training will be added in phases along with the implementation of more opponents and in-depth mechanics.

My intent is to have one-third of this be implemented in the next three months by 12th October 2020 as it would have been one entire year since the initial Early Access, and staying in Early Access for the next 12 months to implement the remainding by 12th October 2021.


I really appreciate the Oculus users who have purchased this knowing that they were unable to use it thus far, especially when I have not been active with news of KENDO on Steam.

OCULUS Support is now available. I am using a second hand Oculus Rift to build this, so if there are any issues on the Oculus Rift S please let me know, as I am unable to test it with that.

Running on Oculus: Native Oculus support is included. If you are not prompted to launch the game in native Oculus mode, right-click the game in your Steam games list and choose "Launch KENDO in Oculus VR mode."


Check out the screenshots to preview the map options available! They also show the different modes of the application. Currently, the Stats Menu as well as the Kendo Dummy is still work in progress as it is part of the Player Stats implementation.

Unfortunately, the 1st July Update is still using the animations from before, there are still issues with the new animations, and resolving them before updating will delay the Update again. This will be addressed in a smaller update in the coming days. The next major update as mentioned above is 12th October 2020.

The combat mechanics right now are still work in progress, and that will be a main focus for quite a portion of the coming development. Please let me know if there are any bugs, I will address them as soon as possible. General or specific feedback is much appreciated.
