Hopital Tycoon Won't open
I literally just bought and downloaded the game, no problem. The download completed, but the game won't open. I cleared the download history and it still won't work. My other games are running fine, and this one puts my status as in game for a second before giving up.

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you :)

Check so your firewall aint blocking it or wrongly identifying it as a virus mistakenly.
Also try to verify the game cache in properties. Then restart steam and try to launch it again.

Actually, please can you talk me though how to verify the game cache so that I can check that I did it properly?

It's strange because it's an old game, but i view on the page in the market it's can be possible the game are not supported by some graphical card...,

but to look for the game cache, go into your list of the game, choose your game you want to make a look, rignt click on it and choose property, and after look for a label data folder (sorry i am not sure it's this in english) but it's the last tab, in this you will have four choice, clicl on the verify the game cach,

steam will look if all your game file are ok...

I am having the same issue. I did the verify game cache thing. I uninstalled my anti-virus, I uninstalled and reinstalled steam. I updated all my drivers. Nothing. Boo

None of those things worked. However a while ago (Sorry, I must have accidently unsubscribed), I accidently clicked on it and it just opened, and I hadn't done anything that I hadn't done before.

I'd suggest still trying the stuff above (to anyone in the future who has this problem) and if it still doesn;t work, jsut trying it occasionally anyway.

mine worked after i went to "C:\Users\*your name*\Documents" and deleted the "HospitalTycoon" folder inside it.

I recently bought this game and I think I might have found a solution.
at least it worked on my gf laptop (windows 8) and netbook (windows 7):

- from MS webpage install .NET Framework 4.5 and DirectX End-User Runtime (Web Installer), then restart your computer

- go to steam folder -> SteamApps -> Hospital Tycoon-> find exe file and right-click on it -> "properties" -> "Compatibility" -> check in: "Run this program in compatibility mode for Windows XP (Service Pack 3)" and "Run this program as an administrator"

- open steam -> go to the "Library" -> right-click on tycoon hospital -> select "properties" -> "set launch options" -> copy-paste this: -startwindowed -> "ok"

- launch Hospital Tycoon

I hope this will help you as well.

Running win7 64bit. Had problems running/
starting the game. it started minimized and wont go to full screen.

Tried all sorts of things. Compatability mode for Xp SP3 and administrator - didn't work.
Tried the Set launch option - didn't work.
Tried the .net framework 4.5 - didn't work.

Then I tried yesterday with a new graphics card driver came from AMD for my 7990 card. Then the game worked. Odd but it might have been the driver.

Then i tried again today and back to minimized and can't open the game...

Any ideas?

In my case it was some tray program that prevented it going to fullscreen and minimizing. I managed to close a bunch before closing Samsung Magician, and after closing that one it started properly. No compatibility modes or administrator runningings or that stuff whatsoever. I have no idea whether it actually was ONLY the Samsung Magician, but at least that was the last one needed to close to start the game.
