Hwat? Its 5 ships of 4 currently, unless the last update increased/decreased it so max 25 per game.

yeah so basically 20 total, 5 ships, 4 players per ship

This game plays best with the current amount of players. Too many players and it would be cramped with constant fighting and not enough resources, like the feeling of the pre-game lobby fights where you are bombarded with melee hits. The current amount of players allows for periods of searching, looting, and traveling and eventually running into an enemy. The game has a good mixture of peace and war.
