Report a translation problem
Ok, not supporting ultrawide by default in 2022 is ridiculous and lazy, but with that said I find the excuse of it being a puzzle platformer quite frankly bizzare. By that logic, seeing more of the world would be, what, immersion-breaking? Would you care to elaborate in a less abstract and more concrete way?
You see, earlier this year we had Little Nightmares 2, also a puzzle platformer, with no ultrawide support either, and of course you can unlock it by changing the HEX value. Did it affect the gameplay negatively in any way? Nope, except I could now enjoy it with no black bars on both sides, so it's in fact benefical in my book.
If you know that a certain percentage of players will be editing the HEX values to play the game, why won't you add support for it natively? I'd rather I could turn it on/off manually, but perhaps with some warning message from the devs with whatever explanation you might come up with, instead of having to perform illegal surgery on your exe file.
Give players a choice is what I'm saying.
PS Yes, I'm butthurt about games not supporting ultrawide in 2022, how can you tell
theres many gems i passed because of this tho, you'll get used to it :)
