Scrolling with a touchpad breaks menu

When you try to scroll with a touchpad the game seems to be stuck in a perpetual state of scrolling and you aren't able to get out of this state without restarting the game.

Similar issue for me. It just scrolls super fast so it skips over everything.

Same issue. Occurs with a mouse scrolling wheel and a trackpad for me.

Same Issue, happens randomly. Game is still playable (thanks to the autosave) but it is frustrating, especially when the dialogue suddenly starts going by faster than I've ever been able to make it move on it's own.

Happens to me as well. Thank god you pointed out it was the touchpad that was causing it, because I must have been brushing the touchpad by accident and had no idea what was causing the issue.

I have no fix to offer (yet, anyway) but at least now I know what to avoid. Thank you very much.

Perhaps something like SpecialK, which if I recall correctly is able to hide keyboard and mouse inputs from games...

Indeed, blocking mouse input with SpecialK does work!

All you need to do is go to the Input Management section, Enable/Disable Devices, check "Disable Mouse Input to Game".

Unfortunately this will prevent any and all mouse input, but the game is fully playable both with controllers and with the keyboard, and it completely prevents any accidental scroll.

I THINK I FOUND A FIX THAT STOPS THE SCROLL??
Putting in an external USB mouse fixed it for me. Tested today and played for HALF of a case without it happening. Didn't have to disable my touchpad either!! In fact I still used it occasionally and it still didn't crash, vs before I did this it was crashing every ten minutes.

I would bet it would also work with a bluetooth mouse. *Or disabling the mouse input to the game*

This doesn't work for me, my bluetooth mouse works fine but if I nudge my trackpad, I still get the error. :( Glad it works for you though!

Two years and this bug was never fixed? I just bought it and am having the same issue.

After having issues with the text moving too quickly and control issues plus this, I've decided to refund.

I'm also having this issue and can't play the game. Will this ever be fixed?! It's so disrespectful toward the players who bought this game, to keep having this technical problem for years now.
