Naruhodo Ryuichi into Phoenix Wright

It's all the original localization fault.
So with this in mind, this game being set over 100 years before the mainline series, they can have it localize with minimal changes as there is an in-universe explanation already in-place.
There is at least a 100 year gap, so nothing to get confused about.
Of course in the end the actual answer is " ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ " because we're trying to make sense out of a continuity mess created by very bad localization decisions made 15 years ago
I feel a little more disturbed by the names though. Before this thread, I had no idea Naruhodo was related to Wright, and I feel I will miss a lot of connections to previous characters if they use Japanese names.
Translated names also helped to adapt a few puns, like Ooba-san becoming "old bag", those only work with translated names (although I have no idea if there are any in this game).
Definitely not a deal breaker for me and I will buy it day one for sure, but that's still kind of confusing :D
