I wonder if Capcom has removed all the racial slurs

I dunno. It went from a post about racial slurs in a video game to an alt-right meeting. I hope the mods just nukes this thread along with the alt-righters
These guys are probably like 14 and have just discovered the concept of edgy humor. If they're grown men, however, I just feel sorry for them that their brains are so fried.

I don't think there were slurs in the Japanese version?

I haven't played the Japanese version. I have only read translations of the Japanese version, and those had slurs. Unless those were added by the fan translators themselves, it may be possible to find them in this version.
If there are any, it's because of the time period it takes place in. Racism towards the Japanese absolutely existed then.

that was actually the translators choice to put those in, which is why they were bad

It was a good decission. It would be weird NOT to have racial slurs in that time period. If they arent't in the japanese version is because, obviously, there is no racial slurs towards japanese people in the japanese language

...The racial slurs are present in all versions of the game, Capcom seems to be going with "Nipponese" in their localization.

"Nipponese" is not a slur though; it's just an old synonym for "Japanese". In the Japanese version it was 日本人, which is also just a standard word for "Japanese" and not a slur.

I am pretty sure something simillar was used in the Spirit of Justice, or am I mistaken?

Sorry, I'm not sure what you mean. Which word are you referring to?

I got confused. The word I meant was "nincopoon" or something, the one word Rayfa and Nayna like to use.

Here. [scarletstudy.gq]
They changed about a dozen lines in preparation for the western release. Mostly when english characters refer to japanese people as "barbarians", "uncivilized", or "monkeys".

Wtf they even censored the Japanese version?

Yeah, so it seems.
they didn't. nearly all early reviews mention them.

One would hope so. There is value in certain games not sanitizing language but the tone of Ace Attorney is not one of those situations.

I’m sure the fan translators had fine intentions but not really enough forethought.
