while i do agree that it's weird a child her age does what she does very good, she's by no means a Mary sue. a Mary sue lacks any flaws, which isn't the case with Iris.
How so?
Iris is only ten years old when we meet her in the game, and from the start, she already is introduced as a very mature and intelligent girl for her age. For instance, is a biographer, an inventor, and a medical doctor. She is shown to not possess any sort of flaw for a big part of the game. This is what I meant when I said that she could be considered to be a rather unrelatable character, compared to other characters in the game's cast. I don't know where exactly you've gotten to yet, but you will soon see, especially in Resolve, that Iris isn't a flawless character. Not to the extent of calling her a Mary Sue, at least, according to the correct definition. I'm not going into details, as I wouldn't want to spoil anything.
I'm up to this bit
She's not unrelatable, she's impossible.
That's understandable, then. I used to have a similar opinion at this stage of the game, and I wasn't very fond of her as a character, until she somehow grew on me towards the end, proceeding to become one of my favourite characters in the game. Many also agree to say that she feels much more human in Resolve, as her tropes were toned down.
Have a good playthrough!
Kid characters usually make me cringe because they're either a) incredibly obnoxious or b) incredibly competent beyond their years to the point of absurdity.
Happy, GAA continues the Ace Attorney trend of creating kid characters I actually quite like!
