I believe I understand what your mean, and I agree with you. The new "Court" expansion is a way to make money (nothing wrong with making money, however.)
They have been advertising that expansion for several months, and I never believed I would purchase it. This game is a strategy game, not a 3D game with amazing graphics.
I DO think CK3 or CK4 'should' have more 3D type graphics, but throughout the entire game. If there were a higher level of 3D type graphics throughout, that would be appreciated. For example, during interactions with rulers and vassals, when you get an information window popup about a traitor, or an invitation to a feast (let's see some 3D graphics of the feast, for example) and battle scenes, and not 'just' in one aspect of the game: the "Royal Court."
For battle scenes, we have a very basic 'animation' of the two armies fighting. There is an icon for a trebuchet. The city under attack shows fire/flames. But that is the limit of 'animations' in this game.
Maybe in several years, they will have a CK4, and will include actual animations/graphics throughout the game. It can still be a strategy game at its core, but more interactive, especially graphically. Perhaps some of us players would like the ability to command troops in a battle, rather than relying on sheer number of troops and the skills of your commander...?!?!?!?! :)
By the way, interesting, how all of a sudden haters come back spreading their messages against Paradox, just minutes after release. The messages being the same old crap as before, sure no 'expansion' seen on these...
At least they didn't flat out rip the first DLC right out of the base game like they did with a large chunk of the "Unity" DLC of Stellaris this time.
Now I will have to be disappointed about yet another broken save on the cusp on more achievements because of the obsession a couple have over there with "ironman mode" being a requirement while playing single player...
But I'm still waiting until today!
