Game crashing after successful natural disaster relief event

FYI I just started a new game last night as 1066 King Philip of France. It crashed last night after I successfully ended the natural disaster relief. Every time I load the game to this event this morning, it crashes. I am going to try from a different save. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this with a new game, but super frustrating.

I've had this happen a few times with very large empires but can't say I've had it happen repeatedly. How close to the natural disaster recovery thingy completion is the save you're reloading?
