Anyone else's settings keep resetting?

Every time I launch the game it takes the time it takes like it would as a fresh launch with new mods or dlcs, and when it finally loads it has the max settings that my pc can run but it overheats my pc, so I like to run it lower but I legit can't when the game says it needs to restart to fix the graphics but when I restart it just goes back to the default.. Anyone else dealing with this? Or got a fix?

before going to sleep last night I re logged into my nvidia app and it worked. If you're on nvidia I hope this can help you.
