MacBook Pro, Lance 1.9.1, No mods - Ran out of application memory

Running Lance 1.9.1 on 2019 MacBook Pro with 32 GB RAM and Vega 64. No mods.

Loading never ends, and a "ran out of application memory" error pops up, with CK3 sucking up to 255GB of RAM.

Actually it was all running fine prior to 10 June 2023. I don't think it is any fault of Lance's. Now even when I drop back to the previous 2 versions (1.9.0.4 and Robe), I end up with the same error. Uninstalling and reinstalling does no good.

I ran diagnostics with Option D on boot and there were no physical errors.

Any good suggestions welcomed! Thanks in advance!

No idea why it works, but removing existing save games got me past the endless loading screen without mods.
