PC FREEZE AFTER RTP CAME OUT?

Over the years I've had many crash issues with CK3, but they were mostly linked to the mods I subscribed to. By changing playset or turning off the mods the game ran way better.
However, since I purchased RTP for the first time CK3 started FREEZING my PC. I'm playing and suddenly the entire PC freezes and I can't do anything but turning it off and on again. Maybe this will happen 5mins into the game, or maybe after 1hr.
I fear this could be related to the game overheating the machine, since playing with my fan at max power seems to prevent the issues (although not entirely).
Anybody else experienced that?

Overheating is solely a hardware issue. Even if the game used 100% of all system resources, your computer should still be able to handle that, if properly built and maintained.

Instead of waiting for a patch that hopefully makes the game less resource intensive, you should do some hardware maintenance. If your computer can only handle 50% of the workload it is supposed to be able to handle, you're wasting 50% of the money you spent on it.

Play the game and check how much RAM its using, after this patch, I noticed CK3 would use all of my RAM, which resulted in my PC freezing.

Sorry for the late response and thank you everybody for your answers. Although it's a relief someone else's having the same issue I hope they'll do something about it

Having same issue. 100% CPU usage. Was never an issue before update

Yeah this patch F'd up everything. Game opens using 10gb of ram, then 16, etc. till maxed and pc ends up freezing. Other people having cpu issues.

I asked in discord too and forums. My game freezes too on initialization. It freezes my whole PC which forces me into a hard restart. I cannot play the game :(

Same with me the game is currently unplayable. never had any issues before and can easily run more hardware heavy games.

I can get into the game but as I play it freezes up and I have to do a hard restart.

I been playing this game forever also and I just bought the newest DLC but I cant play this game anymore, it freezes and forcing me to shutdown my pc... I cant even refund it either bcuz i played more than 2h... But I was just trying to solve the problem... ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Just bought RTP the other day. Did an Observer game today for fun and after just a few minutes the game ended up freezing my PC completely. I had no other choice but to close it from the power button directly, which I don't like to do since that's not good for the system.

Wish I could refund the DLC but alas, I'm pretty sure I played longer than 2 hours. The game seems very unstable nowadays.

In fact, you can still try to request a refund if the game doesn't actually work. If you refer to the many posts about the game not being playable, you might get a refund.
