cloud saves

I installed the game on my laptop. I am travelling and want to continue my game on desktop. But no saves showing up on the laptop. Using same steam account for both. What am I doing wrong?

Hope this helps.

There are two places to check Cloud saves in Steam
- Setup or Options in Steam itself (to be able to use Cloud at all), and
- in the game list right click CK3 and choose Properties (is CK3 using Cloud).

Save files are in folder
Documents - Paradox Interactive - CK3 - save games

yeah, its using cloud save. its activated for the game. And on my desktop when I save it shows cloud save too. But they not showing up when starting the game on the laptop. Even so in steam it says cloud saves up to date.

I haven't had that desktop/laptop problem myself. (I don't usually use laptops.)

Question: can you log in into both versions, and see your progression in the game?
-> Just to see that they are using the same account.
Could you start a new game on laptop, and see if you can save there to the Cloud?

Have you checked that Cloud can be used in laptop, too? Steam and game.

I don't know what exactly you mean, but I can see all my achievements on my laptop. But when launching the game, I only get option of new game, no continue game or load game.

Start a new game on laptop and save it to the Cloud. Will it appear in the desktop saves list?

Can't test it because i am travelling. I installed the game on my laptop while sitting in the hotel. did it before with other steam games and the cloud save was never a problem.

I don't know if this solves your problem but have you tried deleting some of your old cloud save games?

All of a sudden I wasn't able to cloud save anymore. I did not get any error or anything but the save games just did not show up. However, I was still able to save locally.

So I checked the folder with the cloud save games on my mac and it was almost at 1 GB. I deleted a bunch of my oldest save games, started the game, tried to save to the cloud – and it worked!

Apparently you only have about 1 GB "cloud storage" for CK3. Maybe everyone else already new – I did not.

Maybe this helps.

I know this is an old thread, but has anyone found a solution? my steam just says "0 bytes stored" on the cloud save option and nowhere in the paradox launcher or in-game does it have an option for cloud saving. It's real cumbersome having to constantly drop saves into dropbox then download them onto steam deck.

same ♥♥♥♥ bro. Just reinstalled windows and expected to continue my session to finally finish some achievements, but saves are gone. Total ♥♥♥♥. Cloud says 0 bytes saved

For anyone that finds this thread. My problem was that when you save your game, there is a little checkmark for storing saves in cloud which is off by default
