18 gigs of ram....
So I noticed my ck3 game was a bit laggy after playing 200 years, and checked the stats in windows. At this point its using 18 gigs of ram...I am kinda shocked, what the heck is going on? I figure I can't play much longer, at this point it says my system only has 6 gigs free, I guess in 30 years or so of gameplay i will be out of ram.

I doubt that it starts at 1 gig and builds from there. Probably more like 16 and then a gig per century. You should be ok for the rest of your game but it does get laggy in the later game.

I play CK3 on a PC with only 16 GB of ram total...and never comes close to using all of it.

The minimum requirements only require 8 GB of ram. I would say you have some issue as what you are reporting is not normal. Are you using any mods?

Yeah I am using a LOT of mods, I guess thats the culprit. I got another mod that can kill off a lot of characters later in the game, I will try that to see if it helps.

Mods I do like them from time to time but they are community written and they could have some badly written code that could lead to memory leak, this is pretty common in the newer early access games and most games, but is usually optimized on release by the QA department to make sure the code is doing what it is supposed to do. However, mods have no such safety levels. Also memory tends to be the weakest chips in the computer and will stop working if they get too hot.
