Character Animations not working

Hey everyone. Today all character animations stopped. Characters in the foreground, and characters in the background ingame...characters on the main game screen after booting the game up are frozen, too. I was using the usual suspects - fullscreen barbershop, CFP, etc. I went through my mods, disabling one by one until there were none left enabled. Characters still frozen. I even reinstalled the game, ran it with no mods enabled, and it was the same as indicated, above. I even tried running the total animation mod after all was said and done, and that made no difference. I located that mod, btw, by searching the forums first for this issue, but it seems like I couldn't come across my exact issue. If anyone can help out, please do!

Also, I'm not sure if this where I'm supposed to be posting this. So, sorry if it's not the place.

maybe somehow the setting for character animations switched off

Some settings get bake into savegames and are not removed even if the mod is removed.
