Previously I've already had this problem, but I changed the version of the game in steam and it worked. But for this time it doesn't help.
I've already tried to reinstal CK3. I've deleated all the files of Steam, Paradox. But I still have the problem and I can't play the game.
Guys help ))))
1. Press the Win key or click in the search field at the bottom
2. Enter ransomeware -> click “Ransomeware protection” (system settings).
3. "Allow app through monitored folder access"
4. "Add Allowed App"
5. "Search all apps"
6. Select ck3.exe
Path = [Your Drive:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Crusader Kings III\binaries
Make sure you´re running CK3 or better Steam as Admin.
To anyone still struggling with this issue I was able to fix it by uninstalling the game and reinstalling it onto a different hard drive. I keep all my game files on an external drive to help manage storage space, and it turns out CK3 either doesn't like to run on an external drive or the other game files installed on the external drive were conflicting with the game's ability to run correctly. This solution is much cheaper than a new computer, fortunately.
Not what worked for me,
i got it working by going into my Documents folder and deleting the paradox folder, and then running the game again (same drive AND PC) without mods enabled (keep in mind, its going to be the first "boot up" so its gonna take some minutes)
Its also important that you don't have ransomware protection on, since it will make CK3 not be able to create the folder again.
I can confirm that this is a valid solution. Had the same problem here, deleting the folder and running Steam in admin mode fixed it completely.
This worked for me as well, had the issue after I tried moving CK3 to my SSD from my C drive.
I also ran into the problem of the launcher not even working whenever I tried to start CK3, but all you have to do is delete and reinstall the paradox launcher if you run into this.
