I've been playing an Ironman for ages. I'm probably 20 generations deep. Updated today, game now craps out on the 25th of December. Reload game, click play, game crashes. Without fail.

Extremely frustrating. Have put a lot of time into this save. Anyone else getting the same issue?

Crashes after Update fixed (It worked for me)
Start the Game without Launcher.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Crusader Kings III\binaries----->run "CK3" as Administrator

No crashes for me.


Unplayable without crashes for me when i start the game with Paradox Launcher.


Edit: I have no Mods installed before (and after new Update) and play my old savegame with dlc's now without any crashes

sorry it doesn't work for you. would have been too nice. my savegame was not running in ironman mode and i loaded my save in the main menu (not the autosave, but my own saved game).however. if it doesn't work for you, I think that it might crash later on for me. I don't want to hope so. so far it works for me as described without any problems with the old savegame. maybe I was just lucky with it.

i installed all dlc's except "fate of iberia" and "northern lords" but I don't think that matters

Here to bump the thread. Been playing a game from 867 on multiplayer with a friend and now it crashes consistently about a decade before late medieval. We were playing fine yesterday for literal hours. Crash reporter has never worked once for me.

No mods and still just crashing. I assume Paradox has just given up on QA. Really disappointing to see.

Have any of you checked if their ram or disk drives are low on space? The game is rather memory intensive. If your ram, or the drive your virtual memory or saves are on is low on space it could cause serious issues.
You could also potentially have other processes running consuming an excessive amount of ram. Windows' default Task Manager lies about how much memory things are using, so even if it looks like you don't there, you still might.

That all said, the paradox site is a better place to report issues, as I don't think they check steam forums much if at all. They definitely don't do active customer support here if they do check here.

I tried this, since then, UI stuff starts flickering aftzer half a minute and shortly after this game hangs up.
Ended the Process, tried starting again through the launcher, launchger tells me error, need to verify game files.
Tried thet, still cant start through launcher.
Vanilla game, no mods.
Needed to re-install the whole game. Doesnt work for everybody.

No need this problem has already been acknowledge by a community manager/dev on the official paradox forum.

Everytime I start a save, it crashes

Hello, I open up a game and every time it reaches a certain point. The game crashes, I have tried to verify but it crashes still.

No luck for me with this method, still crashes. Disabled my mods and don't have the new DLC yet. Hope my current saves aren't corrupted forever. I've got a YouTube campaign going that I want to finish.
