unknown CK3 crashes

I play CK3 through Steam on a windows machine that meets the requirements specified. I've played over 160 hours of this game, and recently it has started crashing. I have not yet spotted a pattern for when it's crashes. I can provide whatever further information is requested. It is very frustrating, the game crashed 3 times tonight. I consider it unplayable right now.

I tried to post this in the PI forum, but I wasn't able to because "Your content can not be submitted. This is likely because your content is spam-like or contains inappropriate elements. Please change your content or try again later. If you still have problems, please contact an administrator." I have no idea why.

Btw, the link in the steam community form that the devs have made to give guidelines on how to do a bug report is broken. It leads nowhere. The link occurs in a pinned post by Nicou12313

If it crashes more towards the late game it could be the additional workload it needs to process, I'd shutdown any background applications that are active but not being used. Any mods and the addition of more mods could also be the culprit, I had a similar problem with another game (Civ 6) and had to limit the amount of mods I played with to make the game playable in the late game. In any case I'd press CTRL ALT DEL and check what apps are running and can be deactivated in order to free up more resources for CK3. Hope it helps.

Paradox's forums won't let let you post when the account is too new... the error message doesn't bother to mention that though. -_-

If you find yourself crashing consistently on the same date in a particular save, then you're hitting an unaddressed bug that many others have threads about here and on paradox.

Thanks @RedLabel. It#s not towards the late game, and I've got very little else running. This didn't use to happen, I played more than 120 hours before this happened regularly. Maybe it's some new update?

@obsidian right okay. Yes I wish that was in the error message for sure.

oh okay? I hadn't seen other posts about it but I believe you. It's very hard to describe, it happens without any obvious trigger.
