Levies just disappeared
After I invaded a neighbor, I decided to disband my armies even though I was still at war, but it was for an ally I didn't want to be allied to so I didn't care about the army cooldown. Later, I then realized that my levy count was over halved, and my vassals were forming factions. There was no way to fix this, as I was still in the early game where levies are the main aspect of the army. Since when did disbanding armies early delete my levies?

Edit: Every other time I disbanded early, my army was fine. It was that time specifically that my levies just 'disappeared.' There wasn't any warning or anything of the sort. I'm mostly just confused.

It doesnt delete levies. Something else happened that reduced your levies.

For example if you are clan you annoyed your vasals so they dont send you more levies anymore.

Or you granted vasals to another higher ranged vasal and thus that higher ranged vasal gets their troops now instead of you.

Or you are over your domain limit and thus get a penalty.

There are so many things that can reduce the levies you get its however hard to pinpoint out what exactly happened.

I don't think that this has been the case since they introduced tax collectors.

You are right, that was changed. But that still might be why someone gets less levies: vasals not being assigned to a tax collector, or the tax collector got replaced by a worse one.
It has always been the case that if you raise levies as a character with a high modifier to your levies, and keep them raised while becoming a character with a low modifier to levies, the levies remain raised (so you can have a larger army in the field than you can currently raise from peace). Disbanding the army in that situation will "delete" the excess levies.

I'm a feudal, and I didn't grant anyone any vassals. I also didn't get any new land from the war, I only gained a new vassal. I tried playing the save again, keeping my army raised for 10 years until the end of the war, (wish the war ended sooner) and nothing went wrong this time.
There are so many modifiers in every single fief/holding plus other issues that could be happening right now. Make sure you read everything properly and don't just fixate yourself on a single number and then go nuts when that said number changes. There's always a reason for numbers to change in this game, some are more obvious than others
