What Expansions Would You Like to See in 2025?
Now that 2025 is here and things are rolling. What would you like to see added in Chapter IV/2025?

Not here to argue or petition for stuff to be added. Just chat about what youd like to see and share your thoughts.

Personally I'd really like to see a map expansion to cover Asia. Though it might be better to overall Nomads first.

Slavs really need a full expansion and Europe surprisingly could use some more content. France, England and Germany could use its own content.

But really what I want to see is a Paganism overhaul. Wrath of the Old Gods kinda stuff. Hellenism needs a full overhaul. Giving it all the content of Asatru. And not just Hellenism, but Celtics Pagans, Non-Norse Germanic Pagans and Tengri as well could all use content.

Now share. What are yall looking to see in 2025? :jawatongue:

Warfare update
I'd like to see all active traits at the character list even if they don't fit the panel. Arrows to scroll or smth.
Don't really want specific dlc's but I do wish for more restrictions per culture/religion.

As it stands now, with a bit of playing around cultures and religions are not special.
You can play the same wherever you are and whomever you are.
Don't really like the "Skyrim" esk way of approach.

Sure, why not suggest a complete rebuild of a main part of the game as an "addition" :brotherskull::Decapitation:

Instead of rehashing CKII stuff..

Improved spying and diplomacy, Have them actually mean something and be a legit focus of the game, verse steam rolling wars and easy marriage expansion. Diplo/spying could be so much deeper than it is.

That would be nice though not sure how they would do it without going a bit deeper than normal.

Not sure what the problems with culture is. I thought it was implemented decently well. Maybe not perfect but certainly not bad. Alot of traits are unique to certain cultures (ie Roman traditions).
I would like to see the expansion of reasonably priced dlc instead of overpriced.

Anyway we need great works, one of the best features from ck2 by far.

I enjoy creating my own culture, game is barely historical, it's a game with a theme of history.
Societies similar to CK2

Where have I claimed that it should be part of any addition?

I also very much enjoy creating my own cultures and/or religions.

Nevertheless this is something solely for RP and/or min/max purposes.

While I think it's great I can create any kind of culture, anywhere on the map, the fact, for example I can be a Catholic clan or a muslim administrative anywhere without changing much from being a Hindu clan or Tengry administrative makes it feels like the game doesn't offer much variatity, while in fact it does.

CK2 is inferior in many ways to CK3 but it did offer a very diverse way of playing and thus replay-ability.

Whilst replay-ability is certainly not an issue in CK3, I do notice I replay CK3 far less then I did CK2.
Maybe I'm a bit burned out on the whole CK for the moment and I def. Will play CK3 for a while when I start up a game again, I just feel less inclined over the same period of time to do another playthrough in CK3 then I did with CK2.

This coming from someone who hasn't touched CK2 after CK3 release.
With CK2 still being my most played game ever

I would like there to be an espionage mechanic where there is less information about neighbors in general and people in general, and I could then try to gain knowledge, and then maybe have a surprise who I married.
I would also be happy if I could then see: Oh, but there are significantly fewer troops in my neighbor's country than I thought, or even quite misstatements.
Also, I'd like to see a warfare update that would also allow me to tell my allies where to go, where to hold, what to besiege...I would like to see a religion update in which there are structures such as the church, orders and cults, we take, can ascend and maybe then with temple holdings that can then be passed on (and cathedrals) and fight for it and certain titles within the church structures, apart from that, I would be happy about a big update on crusades, maybe with a focus on orders and also saints, relics Apart from that, of course, nomads, trade and guilds that's my 5 cents

This would be cool. I feel there definitely needs to be more to do with diplomacy and intrigue. They've gone some way with how they recently reworked how intrigue schemes work, though it does seem a bit of a mixed bag, given how often schemes will fail now or how long they take to get anywhere. You can be double-digit bond villain level of evil plans and still start off with a -100 progress to a kidnap or murder plot simply because the AI has 'clicked a button' /enacted basic counter-measures.

But the idea of having very limited or varying amounts of information about neighbours realms, and other characters personalities is very, ahem, intriguing. Having to use diplomatic efforts or more covert information gathering to gain knowledge of potential friends and foes, threats and opportunities, would be fantastic if done carefully.

There is a mod that does attempt this in some measure, I cant recall its name as i only say it played through some youtuber streamers. But it seemed too heavy handed for my liking. You would know literally nothing about anyone or anything of the world around you, which felt even less likely to me than having player knowledge of (for exaggerated instance) someone on the other side of the maps sexuality at just a glance.

EDIT: codefix

I've been saying this for years. one of the reasons why the game is so easy is because you can see and know everything. Cherry pick high stat people from other realms, see total amounts of troops and money, ect. things the player uses all the time to make decisions that the AI doesn't do.

If you had to spy and use diplomacy to find stats, see troops, learn things about people it would greatly slow the game down and make things not just sure things with simple math because that is not how life is.

The game could also hide traits as well. You shouldn't always know someone is deceitful or paranoid or just or what ever. Those should be learned some how or naturally exposed over time in your own realm.

that would add a huge layer of fun that would really change the game for the Player, not so much the AI but it could also be a way of giving the AI an advantage with out cheating. Or just simply, Not letting the player steam roll so easily. If you don't know all a realms allies or you have slightly different numbers on troop totals, combat would be a bit more of a gamble, verse the automatic steamrolling that goes on.

There could also be a Rumor system, that would inflate things, or give false information. You could use your diplomats and spys to inflate your realms worth or power for example. There is a lot that could be done that would make the game so much more fun. If i wanted a combat game i would play a typical RTS, i play this because it has lots of stuff that is not combat, it just needs a lot more and it would be one of the greatest games of all time!
