Murder Schemes

Any effective way to counter murder schemes? It feels like they are far more effective at killing the player character than in CK2 or early CK3.

Run disrupt schemes and try to actually find out whose scheming and make them pay for it as well. Its usually a rival or somesuch.

This. If you have a rival and are aware of a murder scheme on you, it might be worth it to start up a murder scheme on them just in case.

I have my intrigue council on disrupt but ill try the rival bit.

Yeah... just murder ur rivals first. As for randoms... do the normal stuff that keeps Vassals happy. Such as the second to last button for Diplomacy Adviser... gifts with 2x perk, Force them to convert to your religion... and what not.

Few more things you can do:

1. Boost your Intrigue as high as possible (spouse task, artefacts etc.)
2. Employ the best bodyguards, cup bearer and food taster you can
3. Raise the Opinion to 100 ASAP on these guys, and your physician, and your Spy Master (send gift and gift artefact are quick)
4. Avoid hunts and vassal feasts until things chill
