Some clarity about what I can do as a regent
I'm currently a vassal to Bjorn's grandson (a lot of deaths happened and he's the current King of Sweden). I think I can weasel my way to being his regent, but I'm not entirely sure what I can all do as regent based on my prior experience as one on a different playthrough. My ultimate goal is to get Sweden to form the Scandinavian Empire so I can become King of either Norway or Finland. I've been taking Sami and Finnish lands for the King, but if I become regent, can I declare wars for Sweden as a whole, or can I create titles, like ensuring Scandinavia is created?

idk... Regent is the only way to overthrow ur Liege without going to war or scheming (war or scheming are both far easier to do than Regent). Only reason to do the Regent way is for the Achievement, "Your Eternal Reward". (Achievement is rare. Only .02% have it.)

can just unlock the Stewardship, Administrator perk "Meritocracy" to "Enables the Claim Throne Scheme" (it's the very first perk, so don't even need to unlock stuff, before it.).

or... can buy Dutch Claims of fellow vassals (By unlocking the perk Sanctioned Loopholes near the end of the Scholar Tree, under Education.) And win war against them... and then once you have 51% of the lands, you fight the Liege for his title (basically, an internal takeover).

I think you can even buy a claim to your liege's Highest Title as well... and just fight him directly for it.

I don't want to claim the throne of take it from my liege.

All I want to do, if possible (my question), is declare wars on my King's behalf (essentially make my King go to war with neighbors to get enough land to form Scandinavia) and create titles for them (create the Scandinavia title for them once they meet the requirements).

That's a great question, I am curious to see if that's possible or not. I'm leaning more towards that you can't, in my experience I've seen that regent is only useful for abusing power not influencing it. However, I've never maxed out my regent power so I'm probably not the best example

That's a bummer. I was hoping I'd be able to influence the kingdom more and not only for direct personal gains.

A roundabout way might be to bankroll your liege and try to plant a courtier in their court with a claim on the desired title then hope for best. Which would be a complete pain in the ass lol, and would work better with a liege who has an agressive/offensive personality type. Idk im just kinda spit ballin. Im sure you can find a way through marriage, marriage is always the answer in times of peace! Wish you the best of luck and would love to know if you figure out a way

Yeah, no claims are needed in my case since we're all tribal still (867 start in Viking territory). So far I've just been taking the territory for him trough forced vassalization and conquering, then granting the vassals to him to help beef his own army up a bit. I just saw an opportunity to become his regent and was hoping that might make things a little easier. Hopefully he'll form the Empire quickly once he has the land. I was playing a vassal of Scotland in a previous game and multiple Kings just absolutely refused to create Britannia, despite meeting the requirements for nearly 40 years
