Landless adventurer realm expulsion
So this isn't a bug report per se, but I really dislike how touchy the NPC rulers are with kicking landless characters out of their realms just because they don't like them. Yes I know it's supposed to make it challenging, but certain playstyles are almost unplayable without creating a demigod character. Even when I'm not trying to play an outlaw and just want to play a religious minority, every ruler basically auto-expels me leaving my character wandering all over the place trying to just find a spot to camp. Yes, yes I realize that's somewhat realistic but when it makes the game practically unplayable it gets obnoxious. There are lots of character types I'd like to play, and I don't want to be forced to make an all 100s stat demigod just to avoid this unwanted problem. Could you guys please tone down the expulsion formula? Or give me a game setting to turn that crap off or at least down without it making achievements unavailable? It's genuinely making this game not fun to play. Thanks.

Here is your problem. Your playing as an unwanted character either way. Bite the bullet and convert as you travel, or move to realms that are pluralist/non-zealous rulers.

This is the entire point and experience of adventurer. Your not supposed to stay in one area for long. this is why contracts spawn everywhere expect nearby.

Or y'know, be likeable. It's not particularly hard to have a maxed out gallowsbait trait, an evil religion and a quite large opinion negative from repeatedly robbing them, and still have +100 opinion. Get the +200% opinion gain from gifts perk, ideally breed in beautiful and genius, and get some of the +diplo perks/traits - it's probably the easiest of the stats to get to 100.

Could also get a large army, which makes them think twice before expelling you, but that can be a bit of a pain in the arse if you're wanting to move around a fair bit. The provision cost per holding moved can get a bit ridiculous if you don't have the camp buildings/follower jobs decreasing it (and even then...).

Nyeh... bit of an exaggeration. You can quite effectively just zig-zag between two or three points. I like Italy->Sardinia->Africa in Europe or Chang'an->Kaifeng in China. You also will get contracts spawning nearby, both naturally and from town criers, and it's fairly common to find that moving camp because there's a contract wherever will actually delete the contract you were moving to be close to and spawn new ones.
Further, put yourself in the ruler's shoes. Would you want a hostile army on your doorstep causing havoc?

this really , joining his wars and helping him works wonders for his opinion of you

Couple of things. First, as I said in my original post I get the mentality behind the mechanic, but also outlaws were able to successfully hide out historically, sometimes for years. So while yes rulers would tend to get nervous about large armed bands, a tiny band of clerics or wanderers wouldn't necessarily draw the same concern AND there should be a "hide" option where I can lurk in the wilderness.

Next, the character that prompted this post was a Messalian missionary with three camp followers and got kicked out of Jerusalem on the literal second contract I tried to take. I didn't even do anything criminal, and while again, yes I get that a religious minority is at a big disadvantage in the middle of the Abbasid Empire historically they didn't just kick out people who hadn't broken any laws. They had to pay the Jizya and accept second class citizen status but come on, I don't think even a full in game year had passed, and the previous contract was one of the basic stewardship ones. Getting expelled on a brand new character who's done nothing wrong is ridiculous. I didn't even have any military units nor did I have time in-game to be able to do any sort of "currying favor" with the local lord.

Bottom line, I'm not asking for expulsion to be removed, I just hate how damn touchy the AI is with it.

The Abbasids actually weren't awful, broadly speaking, in terms of their treatment of the Dhimmi (non-Muslims). Their civil administration was full of them, some holding quite high offices.

Expulsion can be a tad random. If you reload (if you can), you might find that you don't get expelled for whatever reason. It's also a good idea to stay on the move until you can get fairly high opinions, at which point the risk of expulsion becomes non-existent.
