Earlier Start Date DLC before Vikings

I want a DLC, that lets me play in the very early times, like 467, is there a chance it will ever come to this game? You could play the very beginnings of the Karolinger Dynasty and build their empire from the ground up or experience the fall of the western roman empire. I could see so much potential in a DLC like this, with different cultures, different empires....

Unlikely to happen. Even ck2 with more much content than ck3 also start at around 800

It's not likely, if anything, the earliest they'll probably go is with Charlemagne's reign. What I do think will happen is Paradox extending the end date from 1453. They could cover the fall of Constantinople, the end of the hundred Years' War, (they could make a scenario for that!), and possibly expand the map for the Age of Exploration. I know that I just described Europa Universalis, but if we're going to be technical here, the Age of Exploration started in 1336 with Portuguese discovering the Canary Islands and later establishing a trade route to India. I'd rather Paradox expands the end date rather than make an earlier start date.

There is a mod called start dates where you can start at the year 0 AD and all the way upto 1700

The last time a Paradox dev addressed earlier start dates they said it was a very low priority.

Best we can hope for is probably the old 769 date and not any time soon, if ever, unfortunately.

The developers have consistently said no. CK3 is a game about feudalism and it doesn't do any date before 867 very well.

They have said it before with CK2 that it is very unlokely as a) there are not enough sources for detailed map and b) game mechanics aren't really suited for such kind of tribes (that could've been fixed just like with nomads)

But hopefully we will see a Charlemagne start date

There are three playable government types. Generic feudal, Islamic feudal, and Tribal (which plays 90% like generic feudal). Feudalism has everything to do with it because this has been asked many times on Paradox's official boards and their answer is the same, every time. Before 867 doesn't work because there's no feudalism. See, you started by wanting a new bookmark but to support that bookmark you need to remake the guts of the game.

well they are stupid either way.
ck2 had start date in 769. i think that was the charlemagne dlc.
it worked in ck2, why would it all of the sudden not work now?

it worked in ck2, why would it all of the sudden not work now?

They removed it because it didn't work.

They removed it when making CK3. They deliberately did not bring in back because it was a bad bookmark. Poorly balanced and no part of it worked as intended. The end. Cope.
