Building Slots
It was my understanding that county's building slots would be reduced with this DLC. I picked it up and booted up a new game with all DLC enabled and I don't see that holdings on startup were reduced down to 2. I have 4 + Duchy building slot for my capital and 4 available in my other regular castle holding.

Was I misunderstood or is my game broken/not updated correctly?

It seems a lot of settlements are more unique.

Most seem to have just two slots, I have seen one with one slot. Also have seen "special" slots with a golden border that only allows you to build a special building. IE gold mine.

So is it maybe just that I chose the classic Easy Murchad Irish start maybe?

Can anyone point out a county that is reduced to 2 slots on start? I don't even see a county reduced to 2

I don't know about county capitals but in Guiyi Circuit most of the temples and cities only have 2 (I guess to represent the desert/drylands of the region). My county capital barony still has 3.

867 start. If you're in 1066 it's probably more developed.

Where/when are you starting? Some areas are more wealthy than others.

Just did the classic Irish Tutorial start. Wanted to see how it was different. I was watching Ziely's playthrough of the dlc before it was publicly available and he did a 1066 Holland start and his capital's starting limit was 2 buildings. However in my game Holland has 3 building slots available - that's why I thought either there was a change or my game didn't take the dlc properly.

Ah, I think I figured it out, you're right - it must just be the start date. I didn't see that he was 867 start - so that must be why. I thought it was a 1066 start.

Started a new campaign with Norse on 867 start and all settlements at least tribal ones, have just 2 slots, + the special slot some places.

So how do you get more build slots (besides the few events that could add them)? Does development finally have a purpose for tribal? Or does it depend on era? I almost always start at 867 so this was a big hit to my tribal start up.

All holdings now have 1 basic building slot. Additionally you get:

+1 for the county capital
+1 tribal innovations (Ledger)
+1 early medieval innovations (Bailiffs)
+2 high medieval innovations (Guilds and Windmills)

Appreciate this. I know it's fairly obvious once you start playing but I just updated yesterday and was trying to find where you could increase them.

Not sure if you noticed - the military buildings with the stationing system are also much stronger to compensate for the loss of slots in early cultures. So if you sacrifice one of your two slots for military, you get at least something like +30% damage on your MAA.
Also there is a new game rule to get up to +3 free domain limit.

And there are some really powerful new eco buildngs. the wind/watermills and caravanserai. Make sure to build these after unlocking them in high medieval.
