Good to hear... I was curious and coming here to ask about how accurate the system requirements are.

Finally after 30 months the came out with a decent sale. I'd been holding off for this. (That and for the early adopters to find all the bugs...)

I'm a little bit below recommended setting but well above minimum. I don't care about high graphics settings. Crusader Kings isn't about graphics to me.

Problem is it gets laggy late game when there are a lot of characters. Wish we could play on a smaller map. Apart from that you just need 16 gb Ram and you're good to go

I would not call that a low end system.. Outside of you needing a graphics card.

yeah at first, then it will get super laggy toward the late middle game and beyond. So, enjoy it while it lasts lol

Tbf, from my experience in ck2, I tend to stop playing before 100 years have passed, so I should be fine.

So how does the late game lag compare to CK2?

Is it as bad/improved/or worse than the lag in CK2? Graphics aren't going to impact that, its more the huge amount of data, have they made late game more efficient?

I never had performance issues with CK3, but it gets boring long before the end date, so I don't really know what "endgame" looks like.

CK2 had more performance issues, it was near unplayable around the time of the india DLC, then they made some kind of AI (lobotomy) overhaul and the game start running well enough again, but, for some reason, when you have one massive empire you can experience some lag, not during normal gameplay, but weirdly, often on some menus, like the wonder construction menu and stuff like that, it was weird.

Don't play on the top speed, if you run at slower speeds the game won't buffer. Still, if it does buffer that's a good thing, it's better than dropping or crashing, that's just the game catching up. It's not Lag, that's a connection thing.

Getting a little nervous. I'm well above minimum specs and I've been sitting here for 15 mins on "Initializing Game" wondering if it's too late to get money back, I bought this a few days ago but haven't had a chance to play it until now.

Understandable, the first load takes a decent chunk of time.
PDX should better communicate that to first time buyers, that the initial load is long, but subsequent plays after that (pending mod and major updates) will be considerably less.

Load time is heavily dependent on your CPU usage.
So if you're playing CK3, make sure no other program that drains CPU is running alongside it.

If you have less than 2 hours of playtime, you can get a refund.
Edit: You also need to refund it within 14 days of purchasing.

I ran this game on an I5-3350, 8Gb ram, and a 1060 6GB vid card. The game took about 2-3 mins to load then was fine. It would buffer on faster speeds, but i play on slow so i had no issues.

The game takes forever to load for me but is fine once it has,
