Yeah, it's a known bug. You can still search by them and see them (congenital traits that is) if you click on the character.

If you see a space between their traits and their religion that have a trait, select them to see what it is. Annoying but it is something.

Oh so that's why the find spouse menu doesn't show people with traits even though I specifically put it into the search filters.

Just to clarify, or nitpick: The filter (traits: inheritable) does work, you just gotta check each character to actually see the traits.

The icons do show up on children though, seems like the issue is due to adult status or to having 3 personality traits.
