Report a translation problem
Pretty sure that's just a translation hiccup. It just ups the chance of getting Strong as the child grows up.
Regarding the notes in the wiki about not being able to take certain traditions while having others, those are in regards to reforming culture and adding traditions (they'll be greyed out with a note you can't add the tradition because of another tradition you have). Hybridizing overrides this mechanic because of how you're just marking which combination to keep from both.
