How would you know that? The dev diaries haven't even dropped for those. Either way still doesn't explain why would you pay more for less, when you can get the whole package.
With 3 the major stuff would be free content, the DLC would be entirely optional, and purchasing it would be more like a show of support for continued development than buying the content itself. What I'm getting from the Dev Diaries seems to be backing up this concept.
If you don't think the DLC contains enough content to justify the price so isn't "worth it" don't get it. If you're not interested in "supporting further development" and just want to take advantage of the free content that's fine as well. I personally don't think $35 is too much for four content packs, several accompanying "free" updates, and the raft of mods that they're sure to inspire.
It breaks down to $0.67 a week for a years worth of content.
Key sites only sell them for the lowest price the game has been while on sale.
I'm not assuming anything, you're mirroring your own behavior. Its simply common sense to buy something with more value...
You're the one who is assuming the other stuff has no value...
I don't know about gouging, maybe it costs this much to make this DLC and is a fair price, but i do know that prices have gone up in many game series, like for example Total War's Chaos Dwarves are £18, for a single faction.
In my own case, what's happening is that the number of games i have kept up-to-date by buying each DLC is getting smaller, and i'm only buying the most important ones. I love CK3, i think it's a very decent game overall, but i must bow out from keeping it up-to-date, as there are a couple other games that come first in importance.
I must admit i'm curious as to whether many other gamers are being priced out of gaming, by the cost of living and rising prices, or if i'm in a minority of poor-people who's custom won't be missed.
Piecemeal, yeah, it's pricey. I guess they want to push people towards the season pass.
Otherwise I'll be holding off until some sale.
