Unless you plan on staying a count for some achievement or what not, I recommend getting to Duke so you can extort a Count vassal for decent money. Also, as feudal one of the best ways to make money during war is to not click victory asap during wars. Siege as much as you can before the AI accepts defeat on their own. You can also ransom captured leaders for a lot of money and still win wars as well depending on your war score.
Edit: Also, most importantly; if you have a Spiritual HoF such as Othodox, Catholic, or Zhengyi; to name a few, you can try to befriend/please the HoF. If they like you enough, you can request funds from them every couple of years if you have the piety for the exchange.
