How would that be any different than making someone your knight in the current system?

it would simulate chivalry culture of XIIIth century onwards. At the minimum, it could just be like it is in AGOT mod. As in, not every warrior or man at arms is a knight and there should be a prowess benefit of being knighted.

I don't use the AGOT mod so you'd have to explain a little more. There's a culture tradition specifically for chivalry or marital admiration.

So - just like an educational prowess trait, as if you built an academy, or a blademaster prowess trait which knights can gain, but we call it something different?

What would the difference or advantage be? A +2 prowess bonus or something is, well, not much point to it with all the existing options.

You can pretty much knight and 'unknight' by just choosing one of the three options in the MAA menu for any character.

yes, but that's not immersive. AGOT allows you to knight both nobles and commoners, commoners will get small badge with COA next to the grey commoner lack of COA. Kids can be squired for some time with small progress bar. It gives small prowess buff and something else I can't recall now. You can have both knights and non-knights as your "captains" which simulates the fact that medieval armies had also man at arms. Not seeing any problem with adding that. It's rpg game after all.

It would be super cool if you could grant knighthood to individuals or mercenary bands. They need to make lowborne mercenary bands and warriors more common too.

There is a mod on the workshop ^-^
I want to do knighting ceremonies, the mod doesn't do that. It would be epic to knight individuals or even mass selected individuals.
