Freezing Problem

Is anybody having freezing problem? By freezing, i mean the computer completely freezes and there is only one way to fix: restarting the computer. I am not quite sure why it started, but seems like it started after i realized the game uses over %90 of my gpu and i decided to limit the fps by turning off vsync. Even now when i enable it, sometimes the freeze occurs but less frequently. Though i do not want to over work my gpu just for a few basic graphics.

Please tell me if you guys have this issue or have any fix for it.

yes this just started happening for me recently. Not sure if it was caused by an update

My friend mentioned something about a windows update but i didn't do any specific research.

It is literally unplayable rn. Frozen 5 times, i have been trying to fix for an hour and no luck.

Run an updated (current) Windows 11 OS - no issues.

Just things to check: Game, saves, mods all on the same drive with a large enough swap file and room left on the drive? Other drivers (sound/graphics) didn't update and try to change your settings? Mod(s) didn't update and change something? Not getting too hot in that little black box?

Same issue, It happened to me directly after a windows update, game runs a little hotter than normal, I clean my pc regularly and this card isnt new or messed up in anyway. Literally never had the problem until it updated last week. Sometimes I can play long game without a single freeze, but my frames would be ass. Keep in mind, I can play virtually any other game without issue, Arma 3, Total Warhammer 3 etc, just ck3 somehow, even clean install, veritification and no mods.

Happens on my system, too. Seems to be a CK3 issue because the system runs fine apart from that.

Yes the problem is not caused by individual users, its most likely ck3 sided

Can confirm same issue - Win 11 24H2. NVIDIA GPU, AMD CPU.

Tried all the various fixes (compat mode, vulcan/dx11, remove all mods, verify integrity), none seem to have worked.

Tested RAM, Tried a different (nvidia) GPU, even swapped out known working RAM. 100% seems to be an issue on CK3's end.

What is strange is that it was working fine for the last 2 days - was there an update recently?

I've been on 24H2 for a while now, so I really dont think its that - CK3 was working fine for the last 3 or 4 days.

Been happening to me, but I recently updated to 24H2, rolled back to 23H2 in october due to Sparking Zero netcode issue, but decided to upgrade it back on December when they fixed it, and now CK3 is unplayable.

Can't enjoy TFE, thought it was a mod issue at first, specifically for EPE, but looks like something broke on their small patch last December.

I tried, they are not having new signing ups... I realized that there are other people already mentioned this issue too. And to be honest i already have spent enough time to fix this issue. Not bothering for it anymore, changed my review about the game until they fix it.

If you are having trouble creating an account, that's a different link. PDX doesn't "not accept new accounts". That may be YOUR issue - I would check security settings. That is:

Just get your account set up with that one - they will not try to fix any technical issues with the game.

The general gaming issue with 24H2 is has not been fixed, AFAIK, & is crashing many Ubisoft games as well. IF that is your issue, then it will not be fixed until Microsoft does that.
