Giving a city to your heir removes them from succession
Hi,
I’ve noticed what seems like an unintended loophole in succession mechanics. If you give a city (republican holding) to your primary heir, they immediately become a republican character and are removed from the line of succession, even in feudal realms.
This allows players to bypass normal disinheritance costs and penalties by simply granting a city title.
Is this intended behavior, or could it be looked into? It seems to break the usual inheritance balance.
Thanks!

So does sending them off to fight a one man war 'Don Quixote Style' against a distant "enemy" you declared war on for no other reason than to have them murder your heir in repeated lopsided battles (which was actually promoted in a PDX advert as a possibility early on).

Not a bug or loophole. There are multiple ways to remove heirs & possible heirs by design.

This is intended. You can get rid of anyone like this. There are a LOT of ways to bypass inheritance issues, and most people use a combination of them all.

Same goes if you grand your child a temple it should disinherit them aswell.

CK3 core game is to use tricks and flaws to cheat with laws and rules. Paradox even give tools to players to act like that.
Or you could do bachelor ruler and spread your seed to every lovely lady and get an army of bastard children and legitimize one child to be your heir. You have primogeniture from day one.

Lot of ways to get around inheritance bumps in early game.

You make things complicated. Unless you play in iron man mod, You can simply edit your save, and kill or transform in woman all sons but one. Like said, CK3 core game is to cheat rules and laws, so ...
