[Strategy] What would you do here ?

I'm not quite sure how I'm going to do to proceed in this game, what would you do if this was yours ?
I'm England, catholic now, starting from Denmark. Ireland, Scandinavia, Norway, Pomerania and Poland are from my house and I don't specifically want to claim their title.

HRE has been blobbing very hard and I was planning to swear fealty and hopefully claim the empire from within eventually but somehow (maybe through partition) the empire of Francia got created and HRE and Francia do not have the same heir at the moment so will probably get split on succession. I don't have any specific goal aside from usual domination and collecting dynasty legacy.

What do you think I should do ?
I don't have any claims pending on Francia or HRE and at that time the empire is very stable and much stronger than me, but I'm not convinced on swearing fealty now that the empire will split.
(Francia has 12k troops vs my 8k and it's ruler is 41 when mine is 52)
What would you do ?

Give you're probably very close to forming the empire of brittania title because you already own scotlan, england and most of wales I'd say just say focus on finishing up unification of the british isles under 1 empire title. Conquering Ireland would definitely give you that.

And once you have an empire of your own that you can basically do whatever you want since, assuming you manage things half competently you'll quickly outpace any A.I controlled empire tier realm.

really focus on building up your economy and military power, Francia might be stronger on paper but since you're on your own island and of the same religion as them, their ability to effectively invade you is very very limited.

I'd go for the Dynasty of Many Crowns.

Plus England is yours makes 7.

Wales & Scotland make 9.

Estonia,Brittany,Navarre...Take your pick of the many others nearby for Kingdom 10.

IF I WERE YOU; I would form Brit and finish conquering all of Brit while supporting crusades. I would get pretty busy solidifying my main duchy (which would be MiddleSex/London) and building everything up ... i think it has up to 10 castles??

Quickly getting Brit under my thumb so that, while I am fortifying my main duchy, I can support crusades ... and theres your dilemma .. If you get a chance on heading to jerusalem or antioch, would be a good opportunity to play that (after winning and playing the new character) and start forming up the Outremer (or whatever its called for western german peeps). IF you have not done that yet, its a great challenge.

IF I didn't crusade, I would switch up to conquering duchies outside brit, giving to family and granting independence. (to grow the dynasty)

Kinda depends on you, but If I recall the HRE has a special election type for the title. A couple dudes vote on who it will be assuming they have a claim to the title. If you wedged your way in, you might be able to meddle with things so it all goes to the same person on succession.
