Is the DLC worth it?
Literally all DLC content has negative reviews for the most part, even if you remove the price point are the DLCs worth playing with or will they worsen gameplay?

The base game is a pizza with only tomato sauce.
The DLCs are all the good toppings.

Some people will be satisfied with just the simple pizza, but if you want the real good meal you need the toppings.

Its your choice in the end.

Keep playing until you are bored of the base game. Its all too expensive.
Some of the DLC is terrible, like the struggle systems. The rest make the early game more interesting, but the late game bloated and you are left overpowered, whack-a-moleing various events and swapping out inventory items constantly.
Overall, its fine, but again, way too expensive.

Prioritize DLCs that gives you features and game mechanics cause lots of mods present and upcoming are requiring them.
Cosmetics are optional :)

Tours and Tournaments and Roads to Power have positive reviews and they are worth it. They are pretty expensive though.

The negative reviews are pretty much only about the high prices. The ones with the most positive reviews are actually worth the high price. In general there are no DLCs in Paradox games that make the game worse. In my opinion CK3 probably has the least amount of dumb filler DLC, like the music and speech packs for HoI4. Paradox just needs to chill with the prices.

TL;DR Yeah it's worth it.

Ignore the DLCs that are purely cosmetic.
Fate of Iberia and Legacies of the Dead are the only two DLCs that actively make the experience worse.
The rest: depends on your budget. I have nu ragerts, but I'm an imbecile and waste money on garbage.

i never buy any dlc from paradox, out of principle.

The base game is cool enough for what i'm doing with it.

I just play the AGOT mod anyway.

They are all worth it and add lots of flavor and immersion. I ignore the cosmetic stuff though.

Most of the dlc are decent, just not at that price point. The bundles are always overpriced for what you end up getting. Best bet is genuinely to just wait for a large sale if you aren't desperate.

It depends entirely on which DLC some are game changing and add a lot and others add very little for the price the reviews are just typical salty paradox fans

So I'll give you a real take on it all... I literally just got all the DLCs this christmas with 2 bundles + like 2-3 minor dlcs beforehand. They all said royal courts was booty and horrible but it was literally one of my favorite and brought just so much cool atmosphere to the game also my game speed and lag went down tremedously which was helpful guess removing that blocker helps?... Either way got all the other dlcs through the two main bundles roads of power is amazing/wanderers love all the attires I love the tourny dlcs allows me to lvl up tournmanent skills and role play as a Knight who owns the Black Riders a mercenary company of all horsemen. That's with Roads of power lets you be adventurer but in conjunction with tourny DLC.

Yes I recommend them all I think a lot of these people are just negative nancys some are about price and that's fine but a lot of it is just negative to be negative. Kinda like the WoW community was always hyper complainers. My take. I'd get the bundles which did save me a good amount I think. So what I read in those same comments or reviews didn't equate to what I'm experiencing in game. My two cents.

Negative reviews fall into two categories: complaints about price, or complaints about the accompanying free patch. Neither of those, you might notice, actually have to do with the content of the DLC.

Moreover, said complaints are often outdated after a couple of patches, and/or mistakenly misattribute free patch features, like diseases, to DLC content. That is to say, reviews of Paradox DLCs tend to be useless; you're better off just using your own judgement based off of what is on offer.

The game is never made better by removing a DLC from the game that you already own. So yes, all DLC make the game better, even if not all of them make it substantially better.

Don't just look positive or negative, read a couple. What are they saying?

Comments blending an update complaint to the base game with the DLC with the DLC itself are just... inane. Those 'changes' are there with or without the DLC. Without the DLC the changed or new mechanic might be harder to work with - but this isn't a game where you have to grind for hours if you don't get the DLC. You just work it differently (or mod).

Too expensive for the content involved? Wait for a sale.

Too 'buggy'? It's PDX. Again, wait a while after release. They fix the worst bugs, and balance a little, eventually.

The content 'should of been in the base game'? Obviously it wasn't. The base game was and is playable without it.

Regional content is just that. If you're only ever going to play in India Northern Lords and Fate of Iberia are going to feel like a waste of money.

None of them 'worsen' gameplay. Anything there that is complained about being there is base game without the DLC too.

I find across all of steam DLCs get over negative reviews, all of the ck3 ones are good
