no. Dont think you need to hybrid though. Think Roman culture has Kataphrak cavalry. It just starts with nothing researched but...that wont last long. If you become a king you can just change court language.

And a good spot would be in Illyria or Sicily as its close to greeks so you can submit until youre big enough to be on your own.

You could also go Roman on Corsica And once you cap the island you could submit to italy and work your way up there, no court language needed.

IF You wanted to be roman without the name roman culture you could be italian (for the western roman stuff) and hybrid with greek (for the eastern roman stuff) and then just name it Greco-Roman, Western Grecian or West Greek, Italio Romano, illyrian, etc, etc. ;)

Many Italian runs here ;)

Good Luck

awesome thanks and in truth i just wanted to make sure i would not loose the late roman legionnaires or any other small things for each other, i simply liked the idea as a rome united kinda thing with Kataphrak and legion heavy infentry being present

Don’t even have to hybridize for that, iirc. The legionaries become available to you as a late medieval tech once you form the Roman Empire.
