Why cant I make hybrid culture

Why cant I hybridise the culture? I want to do a norse-breton hybrid. I have counties of both in my realm. Have 46% acceptance, been playing for over 100 years and I own royal court dlc. There is no create hybrid culture button. Theres no mods on.

Are you clicking on the correct culture? If you're Norse and want to hybridize with Breton, you must open the Breton culture page, and vise versa if you're Breton and want to hybridize with Norse. If you're not seeing the Hybridize button, that generally means that you either have your own culture selected, or a culture that shares your Heritage.

Other than that, the only cause would be mods, which you already ruled out, playing on an extremely out-of-date patch, or Royal Court being owned, but not installed. Are you seeing other Royal Court features, such as Diverging your culture and/or the Royal Court tab?

Well,
1st, click on the culture that is NOT your culture but rather...the one you are attempting to hybrid with.
2nd, as you review the "other" culture, on the 1st screen, at the bottom will be a button the says "create hybrid culture" (or something close to it)
3rd, as you look over, but not click on, simply hover mouse over the create hybrid...you should see what you are missing, or above it, it'll all be written in red stuff meaning you don't meet the requirements.

Also, you have to be a duke or above. Even if something is up, you should be able to look at many other cultures and see the hybrid button even if you don't meet the requirements. Yea I dunno whats up...just hybrid'd my last run so...you seem to be missing information on your post.

I am norse and looking at the breton i do not even have a button for the hybridise culture. Which ive seen on screenshots of other people. I wonder if its because i started that game before having royal court. Do the patch not just straight up apply to current games? Do i have to restart?

In my experience, new mechanics added by some DLC don't appear in a game started before its activation. So, yes, perhaps you have to start a new run.

Yeah i restarted and now i can do it. So it was likely that...

There are 2 conditions that make hybrid impossible.

1. You share heritage
2. A hybrid already exists

Since norse and breton don't share heritage its most likely because someone beat you to it, and a hybrid already exist.

Since i owned all the breton land, doubt anybody else managed to make breton hybrid. No none of my vassals had it.

Its more likely that the dlc hadnt taken in effect because i bought it mid playthrough.
