Ending Trans Erasure in Crusader Kings III
A Call for Representation and Inclusion

I really like CK3, but one thing that's really missing is proper representation for transgender and gender-nonconforming people. I get that it’s a historical game, but that doesn’t mean we should just ignore the fact that people have always existed outside of the typical male/female gender dichotomy. Now, we finally have a chance to fix that.

For those against this, why do we have a game where you can revive Rome as a Sunni German, but you cannot be trans? It makes no sense.

I have some ideas for how we can add representation:
Cultural Representation
Different cultures had different views on gender, so why not include that in the game? For example, the Indian third gender "Hijras" came about during the game's timeframe, and adding something like that to the game could bring more depth to the representation to non-European cultures (which Paradox is completely lacking in).

Gender-Related Events
Why not add egg-cracking events for rulers in-game? The nobility of Europe have always been prone to being ahead of their time culturally, and this would be a great addition. Adding this for the Greeks would especially make sense, given their long history of breaking the gender binary.

I really think CK3 can be one of the first "historical" games to end a trend of erasing trans figures from history. Leave a comment with your own ideas, and I'll add them to the OP!

You really don't seem to understand how things were in the Middle Ages do you? At best transgender people would be viewed as insane everywhere on the map, I don't know much about Indian history so I'll take you on your word on that

Yup i knew Indian culture had someone as other cultures and ages had (supposedly) the same "issue", but you talk about recognition (you have the trait deviant, not the same but is a start), and how you can manage it to put in this game.

As for example not only trans, homosexuality, (be in game, because had some more info about it), and got recognised on other countries like japan at IX BC (they count it i think for eras, Meiji era for example), thanks to some surviving books.

You are starting to see the problem?, the problem is the lack of info, and yes, surely will be more representations of other trans ppl (or other genders), but history is silent about them with only a few spares, and searching for them to put in a game is risky, because the chance of making or saying something wrong is huge.

My conclusion? to minimise risk as a business launching games to make profit, is better for them and for all (trans or other gender ppl included) to respect our mutual freedom, this info will be searched elsewhere, open for all public, and then think if it will be ok to put in a game.

Edit: Greeks were no binary, they laid in bed with same gender because was a fashion at their time.
