Quick question on diplomatic range
Hey all, I’m at work right now and will play around to try and get the answer later on, but wanted to ask in case someone might know and save me the time.

Just started a new game to try and get the achievement to have a horse character in the Indian region. Last nights play session I took the most south eastern Duchy held by Khazaria, Ciscaucasia. I’m just a tad shy of being able to declare on the holder of Kutch, I can target is neighbor but not him. If I take a few holdings closer and move my capital, would that hopefully get me in diplomacy range to declare war?

Basically, the question is, what determines the range. Is it based on your borders or where you capital is?

borders, not capital

if you want to gain more diplomatic range. Declare war on a small county in maximum range you can and conquer him, that new county works as a satellite increasing your range.

Cool. Thanks guys! Before the first move I figured I’d need to do two before the one to get me to Kutch, but with the first getting me so close I was a bit frustrated that I was off. When I fire up later I’ll gobble up some smaller counties and duchies to get that little extra distance I need.

Yup, always take that one legacy when playing norse to get the extra range. Never had the rock that I can remember so that’s good to know.
