Why am I not allowed a Marshal?
Ever since my current character inherited, she can't have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ marshal for no apparent reason. I have dozens of eligible courtiers, but if I click appoint it just says "Appoint a" [blank] with no eligible characters. Similarly, my husband is not allowed to assist as ruler, despite being in my court, having no holdings, and this making no sense. This is prettymuch game ruining since I have to eat a -50g per tick to have my army raised and -10g per tick to not, because, you know, you're suppose to have a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ marshal to offset.

That is a known bug. Can happen on inheritance with any of the slots if pulled from them.

Not much consolation but you can go back to before it happened IF you have a save and move them to prevent it or it will resolve and open the slot(s) again upon the next character's inheritance.

It has been reported, they know, not much else I can tell you. It will resolve with the next character so at least you don't have to go 600 years like that.
