Base-Game CK3 enjoyable? Advice for starting DLCs?
Hi Lord and Ladys,

I've been thinking about starting to play (and buy) the game ..... the DLC-politic and steam-shop is pretty confusing. Tried to get information per external sources, but here i am ...
In the past i have seen many Youtube-Gameplays about CK2 and CK3 and set eyes on it for several years now, but the Paradox-pricing always held me down.

Is CK3 without DLCs (or something moderatly pricy like the starter edition) worth playing? Is there enough ground covered in the basegame to make some runs for something like a arabic, north african, maybe cultural-magyar run? Or would a basegame CK3 include an overall center-europe experience of the game without so much diversity?

Would you enjoy a base-game CK3 game? Or which are the minimum-DLCs you see as a minimum to enjoy it?

I'd recommend playing before buying DLC, as then tend to expand on things added in the free updates.

IE: Royal court's Free update had more then the actual DLC. So you have like 3 large expansions free already.

That said.

Roads to power is the only "must buy" as it add landless, which extends the game-play loop tremendously. If you know you will like the game and want to get an expansion, this is 100% the one.

All the other DLC have their own merits for what they are. In the end the best order to buy them is:

1. Roads to power
2. Tours and tournaments
3. Royal Court

then anything else that looks interesting.

CK3 is a great base game, most DLCs were as good as the user reviews will tell you.

I'd recommend Roads to power above all else. It's the first DLC I'd call great and it adds 2 "government" types, if you count both administrative & landless gamemodes.
Royal court if you care about hybrid cultures
Tours & tournaments is the "nice to have" one, it's a big DLC.... But it's nothing but side content

The rest are harder to recommend, maybe in a sale, or if you REALLY like a perticular culture.
IE: If you're going to play norse often why not take Northern Lords?
Thanks alot for your answers.
I will take a deeper look at the mentioned DLCs, mainly at "Road to Power" and "Royal Court" as they seems to have quite interesting content.

It helps alot, since i now know where to take a second look to decide how to get (/buy) into the game. =)
