How to turn the family crest into a specific picture?
Thanks for helping!

the files in the "coat_of_arms/colored_emblems/" subfolder need to be color coded in a very specific way so that the game can randomize their colors. for an image with more than three colors you probably need to place it in "coat_of_arms/textured_emblems/" though the game will not draw from that by default so you will never get that emblem when you randomize your COA

to apply your custom .dds image you will either need to unzip and edit your save file, (finding your character, then their dynasty id, then its corresponding COA), or pick a historical dynasty or landed title and mod that COA in the "./game/common/coat_of_arms/coat_of_arms/" folder in either the "90_dynasties.txt" file or the "01_landed_titles.txt" file.

i recommend using the default.txt file from this folder as a reference, i.e. use "textured_emblem = {...}" instead of "colored_emblem = {...}"

Do you mean a specific image brought in from outside the game, or a specific image constructed from pieces currently in the game?

Either involves save editing and coat of arms modding, both of which can be found on the wiki. If you want to bring in something from outside the game, you'll have to do some additional modding. Unfortunately I'm not certain the wiki has that data and it's beyond my capacity to explain, but I'm sure it's out there somewhere because I distinctly remember doing it.

COA modding is detailed here: https://ck3.paradoxwikis.com/Coat_of_arms_modding

Save editing requires a bit of extra work and you'll have to find that on your own I'm afraid, as I can't seem to locate the site where I found out how to do it some months ago.

First of all, thank you very much for your answer. My real idea is to import external images into the game.

Thank you. With your help I know how to replace the coat of arms. But how to find a particular character in my savegames and replace his CoA?
