15 years in and getting worse even though I control most of the objective counties

I ended up winning by capturing the heir and murdering the ruler.
It eventually becomes all or nothing I believe. Since it's a ticking war score, it's a clock counting against you. Which means hold everything that's a target, or hit 100% war score by other means. It's why early on, when you're taking a county, taking the ruler or their heir auto wins the war.
I'd assume in your case, the war lasted so long, that the ticking war score became enough that things like capturing important people, or winning battles no longer became enough to ever win the war, and it actually did become 'all or nothing'.
I did hold them at the beginning, but when things weren't working I headed to the capital all the way east, hoping to capture the ruler and end it.
I'm attacking Mongolia again as Holy War for Kingdom, went straight for the capital and the surrounding area and apparently none of that counts as war objectives either? I'm really confused what counts.

And now, do I need to control the entire kingdom of Mongolia to get % towards held objective? The places I already control, including the capital, are all in the kingdom of Mongolia.
Also, if I don't have Held Objectives as it claims, should it be showing that he does?
It's 6 years in now and the held objectives hasn't moved from 0%.
So if the war objective is a single county, then occupying that single county meets the objective and gives you ticking positive warscore, not occupying that county gives you negative war score.
In your screenshot the SINGLE war objective was the De Jure Kingdom of Ruthenia, therefore to meet that single objective, you must occupy ALL parts of Ruthenia to meet that single objective. not occupying the entirety of Ruthenia fails to meet that single objective and therefore the negative warscore.
So there was a point I controlled all the de jure bits in Mongolia, but I still not credit unless you mean that I couldn't have anything going on anywhere else in my kingdom either?
But also, are they supposed to be getting credit for that?
