Ivar the Boneless is 21...?

Why is he 21? Swear he was an old dude before. Is this a bug from the new update or could it be an issue with the mods 'Ethnicities & Portraits Expanded'?
Or should he actually be young and Paradox only just realised he was old?

his oldest child is 10 years younger than him. technically, during those times, people can have intercourse at any age. May seem weird and barbaric to you, but that's how times were.

But was he actually regarded as being 21 in 867?

Well there is no historic absolute proof of his age in year 867. Much of what we see with characters and realms in 867 is a fictional representation of what the developers believed to be at that given time. Year 1066 becomes more realistic.

Pretty much this. I'm also sure some liberties are taken to increase the "fun" if some of the historical periods when there is less concrete info about them.

Ivar seems fairly "popular" with players, so I wouldn't be surprised if they lowered the age so that people can play as him for a bit longer and create more of a legacy. If they started him in his 70s, like some historians speculate he'd be in 867, the player would get very little time as him.

So.... he's gone from the eldest son to one of the youngest if not the youngest? No real complaint from me. Can we make Haesteinn the terminator 20 as well with the same health pool? pls? ;)

This has been reported to our dev team, thanks! :)

It would not be an issue at all if Ivar's daughter Áslaug was not married to the jarl Bagsek (37) while she is 1 year old
Not simply engaged, she is married.

of all the things to be reported to the dev team, this strikes me as odd, lol.

I don't understand why his age may seem as an issue? His young age works out since most players choose him and may enjoy to rule longer as him. Perhaps an age change to the children he starts out with would be more sufficient.

Oh yes his age is fine... but his children are now older than him :crusader_helmet:
