I haven't even been able to play this game yet! I've had it for years but due to real-life circumstances, haven't had chance.

Today I thought it'd be nice, as I have a couple of days off, to give it a try. However, I've not even been able to play the tutorial as it kept telling me I needed to set up a profile. I don't want a profile, I'm not interested in online features.

So I Googled how to get around this on my Mac. To cut a long story short, I've wasted over an hour trying this get around, that get around that don't work and I'm already tired of it.

I even looked into making an account (although I really am sick of this constant need to create more and more accounts) but, as I'm not interested in multiplayer, I don't see the need.

Am I the only one to feel this profound frustration at this situation? I'm not looking for more trouble-shooting advice, just venting really. Thanks.

I never created a profile for anything. FIrst time I hear this,
The devastating irony of your outrage is that the barrier you are tilting your lance against does not actually exist. You have utterly misread the board; a Paradox Interactive account is strictly required only if you intend to participate in multiplayer.
I'm aware of that Klutch, but every time I tried to play the tutorial, a box came up telling me I needed a profile. There was no option to cancel, only retry. If I clicked retry, the box disappeared until I tried to do something else and then it came up again. Every time. So no, I did not misread anything.

I tried all the work arounds and they didn't work. Please don't tell me I misread something when you weren't there to see what happened.
So.. making an account takes around 5 minutes but you decided to spend over an HOUR trying not to. Sorry but clown awards are worthless after Steam updated them
I'm sick of all the accounts. I just wanted to try a game. You don't get it, I understand. I'm neurodivergent and socially anxious and comments like yours make me remember why I don't tend to post often on these forums.

Is it happening in game or in the launcher? I know for a fact you don't need a profile.

There must be something missing, like a checkbox. IIRC I remember playing I think EU5 and it was kinda confusing to get around the profile thing. It's something that gets saved too, as even if I reinstall it never asks again.

This is what google told me:
"To bypass creating a Paradox account in the Crusader Kings 3 launcher, look for the "Skip" button in the upper-right corner of the launcher window. A Paradox account is only required for multiplayer features, so you can safely skip this step and play singleplayer offline."

click the "X" in the upper right if it has one. Also look for any box that says "don't remind me later" or something like that.

There can be multiple legitimate reasons for someone not wanting to create an account.
In particular for a single-player offline game I can understand the annoyance.

I do not understand the reason tho. I don't think I was ever forced to make a PDX account, although I did make one years ago.

Only the tutorial triggers it? Starting a normal game is fine?
I just wanted to thank you folks that took the time to try and be helpful. I truly appreciate it. I've uninstalled the game on my Mac, which is a shame is it's sooooo much quieter than my gaming PC. I might try it on the PC later but, to answer the last question, I hadn't tried a normal game, only the tutorial as I wanted to learn it. We'll see what happens if and when I try it on the PC. Thanks again, though.
