I found in a few recent games it feels like the AI kingdoms and empires break up too easily. On the other hand, when I set Conquerors to be Strong Only Increased I didn't see a single one even 60 years into the game and I don't want to overcompensate too much. Mostly just curious what others use.

Reduced by 90% and no inheiritence. I don't think an Alexander the Great should be popping up every 5 years.
Default. Conquerors are hardly "Alexander the Great." They don't have to worry about vassals, get a bit of free money, get a free CB for conquering lower rank rulers, can fight up to four wars at once, and go to war as often as possible.

They're effectively just like playing against a moderately skilled human player. They're not exactly all-powerful. Rather, they just have the capacity to get a bit done, unlike other AI characters. Having 5 on the field at once can spice things up by actually getting some empires to spawn into the world for a hundred years before they collapse.
I run default with 100% inheritance (all heirs get conqueror upon the conqueror's death). It keeps things interesting plus it can make for some entertaining situations where you have a split realm at each other's throats.

Like Razorblade said, it does make it so that it's like playing against a moderately skilled human player. The base game AI is completely moronic after all. Conquerors are still a little dumb but not to that level. I never use scourge of the gods though; that's a bit much. Having every conqueror spawn end up nearly as powerful as Genghis Khan is not fun for me.

I've turned it off for that reason. Conquerors are extremely rare -- one in the 4th century BC and one 1600 years later. I don't think that rule set should exist, and the successors of Alexander and Genghis Khan were spectacularly less talented, so the trait certainly shouldn't be able to be passed on.

The game already has too much weird randomness and doesn't need any more.

Same here and support.
This is the most balanced gameplay experience (or turn it OFF is also fine). I don't cheat so I hope neither the AI.
I use default settings whatever they are.
I use the regular settings and it seems I'm always dealing with Conquerors not far from my borders. Some are way worse than others, the Viking one was impossible to fight for generations the way it slew knights. The lady one in Spain however wasn't too difficult.
I've been playing with default conqueror settings but I'm going to turn them off for future runs. I don't like how they get basically free wars and don't have to engage with that part of the game.
