need another perspective on the game
hello there,
I have been mostly playing this game in map painting mode and fighting against bordergore and overambitious subjects while breeding superhuman rulers throught carefully picked partners (with different civs, i'v done nords twice, french, japanese and indians)

The thing is that every time i launch a new run this game, i tend to redo the same, so i need another perspective on the game.

I usually stop to endgame lag (i blame the pope for launching a crusade of my huge holy german empire against mongols) or boredom whien things gets too repetitive thanks to event spam.

I have also done a few interesting modded runs (agot and prince of darkness)

so i'm trying to have a different and refreshing experience, any advice ?

Do an adventurer run where you spend 600 years as an itinerant mercenary company deciding the fate of whatever region you happen to be in at the time?
Mandala government surprised me.
I maxed out the non-death features in 2 generations.

The government greatly reduces your ability to hold land directly or via vassals. it was interesting watching the whole world shatter as they all flipped to mandala, i had never seen nomads eliminated from the world so fast.

If you want to try this out, be sure to travel around and get a stack of all the best (or your favorites) MMAs around. Just park on a castle/tribal hold of a culture that has those MMAs (be sure they're not locked by an innovation; it needs to be cultural) and buy them if you can afford it. I'd strongly recommend Norse and Oghuz but there's a lot of options to pick from.

Having a lot of different cultural MMAs is not just powerful, it's also good for roleplay. A renowned mercenary company with soldiers from all over the world? It totally feels like it when you do that.
map painting mode is a starter, keep everyone in check is adult's mode

If you already graduate the starter class, now you can enter the advance class.

try to control / influence your neighbors / targeted AI's realm ( their boundary, their diplomat trend, their religion, their culture, their ruling family......) , through all your strategy, scheme, force, throw in whatever you got.

booom.... now you are really playing Crusader Kings III

So, i tried adventurer mode on a fresh new run, starting in 867, i mostly played gallowsbait and wanted to be an infamous criminal making an equally infamous dynasty of thiefs and muggers.

And the overall feeling i have is that it feels a bit underwhelming, but fun nontheless for the few content it has.

My biggest pain point is that it doesnt have enough interactions, my second big pain point is that you can't grind dynasty points in that way, making it basically impossible to buy perks while other dynasties reinforces themselves. I also found some shenaningans like even if you move your base after your are wanted in a country, you can still get captured even if your leader is already far away if the conflict started, which feels a bit like BS to me.

Overall it feels a bit niche and a good sidegame, but you can't really play full criminal adventurer dynasty and get T3 (criminal) contracts by not having grinded dynasty points in normal gameplay to ensure your characters have reached 'Exalted Among Men'.
