Zachlumia , you start 17, unmarried, under your Father the Duke, 1 county, it just happens to be the biggest county on the map, with 8 slots!! And, it s a fun area to play in.

the countess of Gosslar. You start with the single highest gold generating province in the game and are unmarried. by 1200 I was making over 20g/m on that one province alone. It makes it so you can make a tall but small realm. You can decide to conquer the north or south whenever you want to make an empire.

I started in the 867 start in africa east side on the coast. Is a single, independent ruler, surrounded by other independents...

I am trying to remember name, but a decent sized few duchies, but brain short, cannot remember name. Wadi?

Veterans are going to laugh at me, but Ireland in 1066. Sure, it's Noob Island, but I think it gives you a LOT of possible direction to go in. You can start low and work your way up, or start as one of the Petty Kings and move towards reforming the Kingdom of Ireland, and from there, Britannia. You have enough military might to be locally competitive, or you can scheme your way to victory and give England or Scotland hell. Scottish leftovers and Irish infighting keep it from getting too stale.

Not to mention but that area seems to have uncovered far fewer bugs than my attempts at Nowhere, Poland, so I might go back before the patch.

I just started a game as Iceland, you start as an unmarried female with an easy first war to take the other half of Iceland. You are technically part of Norway but still your own place that you rule independently. You have a father who rules the Isle of Mann and another small part of England, which starts you as 2nd in line to inherit, if you remove your brother from that position you get some free lands in around 20ish years. Good location to start some wars. I started in the 9th century instead of the 11th, but never once was attacked by Vikings in my starting corner of the map, I don't know if it was because I am also Norse, though also catholic or they just didn't want to sail 100's of miles to my island.

Did I put into the EUIV forum?

I could give you a list of the 10 most interesting characters to play in CK3.. or if we want to debate stuff, some of the more interesting houses or even dynasties.

There is no such thing as "corresponding nations" nations, well even culture and religion is actually not that important... spreading your dynasty far and wide is.

If you want me to give two good suggestions.. one for each start date. Then go for the Hammer and Askanien dynasties..
Early start = Chieftain Holmger of Bornholm (Hammer)
Late start = Count Adalbert of Wolkenstein (Askanien)

Start as Earl Alfred of Wessex. Younger brother to the King of the Petty Kingdom of Wessex during the great Heathen army invasion. You have an army of about 2k and the enemy have around 12k. This varies greatly as different houses ally and fight each other.

I could put spoilers in here but all I shall say is play it long enough for the events to trigger and see if you live up to the only King of England to earn the title Great.

Also helps if you watch the series 'Vikings' before/during/after playing :steamhappy:

1066, the Ragnvaldr in Waterford, Ireland is a semi-challenging start if you wish to maintain Catholicism AND the Norwegian culture.

1066, Eadric the Wild of Cheshire, one of biggest Anglo-Saxon rebels after William took over. Start with High Martial and is in a good spot to kick some Norman ass.

1066, Erik the Heathen in Sweden. A pagan MONSTER with insane prowess that you may have noticed killed half your Knights every time you fight Sweden early on.

1066, Al-Qa'im in Baghdad, the last remnant of the Abbasid Caliphate.

1066, Ota the Handsome in Bohemia. You're a real-life Ken doll and your brother is the Duke of Bohemia.
